About The Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund
On October 28, 2008, a fabulous and extra-ordinary young man, Kyle B. Wilson, at the tender age of 17 suddenly passed away. Kyle was “One of a Kind” who would light up a room with his smile. His LOVE for life inspired whoever he touched and best of all he was LOVED by ALL. In the short time that we were blessed with Kyles’ presence, his “body of work” exuded a sweet spirit that “will never be forgotten”.
Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce financial barriers and empower students – particularly those from underrepresented and historically marginalized communities – to achieve academic success and long-term economic mobility. Our scholarship fund directly addresses these challenges by providing financial assistance for tuition, books, and related educational expenses.
Scholarships
In honor of Kyle’s memory his family has established the Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund, a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization. The fund was created to keep Kyle’s legacy alive while assisting students and their families who find themselves in extraordinary financial circumstances. The scholarship’s funds are intended to help students and their families pay for the many expenses related to quality education.
Past Recipients
As we approach year 18 of the passing of Kyle, the scholarship fund would like to thank all of our campaign supporters for the generosity since inception. The fund has awarded over 200 scholarships totalling $450,000 to deserving students in Western Pennsylvania, which include a $10,000 endowment fund at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and a $15,000 endowment fund at the Poise Foundation.
